5 months!

biba is 5 months...
what she is doing now...

we broke the swaddle (a little painful)
continuing to sleep 10-12 hours a night / 2 main naps a day
she can roll over from back to front or front to back
she loves laughing with mckinnon
taking baths with mckinnon
holding hands with mckinnon
"talking" to mckinnon
anything mckinnon she loves
she is still sleeping with her head turned to the left....i still am turning it to the right a few times during the night but she continues to turn it back. the dr keeps reassuring me that any flatness will work itself out but it still freaks me out. torticollis sucks

4 Months

Biba has really grown these past 2 months....and the screaming has STOPPED 100%. Thank you God. Her stomach issues seem to have worked themselves out and she is no longer in pain. I am still continuing to cut out dairy and may try to reintroduce it into my diet at 6 months but for now....I remain dairy free. She is a total momma's girl (which I have to say I kind of secretly love....McKinnon was not a momma's boy....ever). She continues to be a great sleeper - 11-12 hrs at night and around 3 naps a time (the 3rd nap lasting around 2 hours....the other 2 , mostly cat naps). She has magically turned into an easier baby than McKinnon was but it was a rough start. I hope that I did not just jinx it

Weight: 15 lbs 15 oz (85+%)
Height: 26 3/4 inches (100+% off the charts - they had to measure her twice to make sure this was right)
Head: 16 1/2 inches (85%)
She is starting to roll onto her sides, will sometimes roll onto her back from tummy time, grabs at her feet, holds a rattle and brings it to her mouth and "talks" nonstop. So proud :)

Another huge positive is that Biba will not have to get a helmet. Biba was diagnosed with Torticollis at her 2 month well check and due to her positioning in utero she has one neck muscle that is longer and stronger than the other side (this explains why we never once got to see her face in the ultrasounds - she was always crammed into the side of me). Therefore she favors looking to her left at all times and is getting a flat spot on one side of her head (why she would need the helmet). We have some stretches that we do several times a day and have really had to step up the tummy time to strengthen her neck muscles - I am also carrying her/wearing her during the day and not letting her stay in a car seat/swing/bouncy seat for extended periods of time. Even though Biba sleeps wonderfully at night - I don't. I am so anxious about this and get up at least every 2 hours during the night and turn her head to look towards her right. Today, after examining Biba and all the progress she has made - we got the go ahead to cancel her Physical Therapy appointments starting this week and I got the "chill out crazy mom" talk to sleep and not worry about what way her head is facing at night. Easier said than done when it is not your baby's face...I think a prescription to Ambien may be what the Dr ordered for me

**on a side note: McKinnon's breakfast of Champions these days are Pickles. Not just any pickle - but a dill hamburger chip. He will do almost anything for pickles....even eat his oatmeal and take off his new super cool rain boots from Besta so that he can go to preschool :). It is a great snack for the car....besides the insane amount of sodium he is consuming, it doesn't make a mess and is super toddler friendly

Biba's Baptism / Easter 2012

Our sweet girl was baptized Easter Saturday here in Charlotte. Unlike McKinnon's baptism (last Easter Sunday)....things could not have gone any smoother. http://jonandray.blogspot.com/2011/04/mckinnons-baptism-easter-morning.html
